We would like to introduce you to a quality high school program. Teenagers are searching for an identity, direction, meaning in life and purpose. Buffeted by a host of pressures from their peers and society, they are rewriting the scripts of their lives, heading in many directions, and often running into serious trouble along the way. We offer a quality program in a safe environment that focuses on Christian values to help parents bring up their children in a world full of such pressures.
The high school enrollment is 78 with 20 seniors. There were 8 Bright Futures Scholarship recipients from the 2010 graduating class.
Tampa Bay Christian Academy is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International.
Students receive personal guidance, counseling, and scheduling. The PSAT and PLAN tests are given with college preparation information and college scholarship information available. The guidance counselor, faculty, and pastoral staff are all accessible to students for assistance in personal issues.
This is for students with learning difficulties. We offer an intervention course sequence which includes math, English, science and social studies. These classes are alternative courses that are provided when needed. These classes are at the foundation level of regular courses and can be substituted for college prep courses. With the learning specialist and the guidance counselor working very closely together, the program has been very successful in helping students meet graduation requirements. Space is very limited and an additional fee will be charged.
The majority of students will be in the College Prep course sequence. This provides the students with a strong academic curriculum that prepares them well for college. With the low class ratios; caring, professional teachers; and a structured, safe environment; students are given a wonderful opportunity to develop. Over the years, more than 95% of the students in this program have gone on to college.
College Prep Honors Program:
For the students who are highly academically talented, the College Prep Honors program provides the challenge of a rigorous course sequence. Acceptance into this program is competitive and based primarily on the student's GPA's from the previous year. Honor courses carry a weighted grade of an additional 1.00 added to the GPA for each honor course per semester if they receive an A or B in the class. Last year's graduates who were in the honor classes all received college scholarships with several being accepted into their college's honor program.
Students have the opportunity to earn college credits while enrolled at TBCA. This may be accomplished by taking courses at Hillsborough Community College or University of South Florida or online without leaving the Tampa Bay Christian campus.
In the college preparatory program a student must have a minimum of 24 credits with the following requirements:

TBCA is committed to developing a Christ-centered partnership between home, school and church to assist parents in their God-given responsibility of spiritual and character formation in the education of their children.
